Gran Casino Costa Brava

The Gran Casino Costa Brava is located in the old gardens of the Grand Hotel Monterrey, in the center of Lloret de Mar (Girona), and is based on a singular architectural and environmental study signed by the b720 Arquitectos, led by Fermín Vázquez . The building has three distinct levels. In the ground floor, the casino, distributed in various areas which form part of the main space. This plant includes machines area, poker room, games room, party room, exhibition space, VIP spaces, restaurant, services (kitchens, storerooms, closets, etc..) as well management and security areas. The construction of a large recreational equipment such as a casino raises the need to organize in the same building services and complementary uses such as restaurants, kitchens, parking, conference room and machine area. This requirement includes not only an excellent accessibility, but also the development of a large parking space and a good relationship in dialogue with the urban environment.   The inclined planes that make up the facades are resolved through colored black concrete formwork machimbrado mass and pine slats. The plant houses the multipurpose space is bounded by a series of broken concrete plans, evoking the tectonics of the area from which they arise.
